Surrealism

(My father had a copy of this in his home when I was growing up.)

Today is the 118th birthday of Salvador Dali and a Foodie Friday so let us explore intriguing combinations and reference our mortality through rebirth and life.

I'm going to have to go eat something now, btw anyone seen this blog that has recently gotten coverage in some major newspapers? Someone make that child some lunch, I'm hungry just looking at it, mmmm melted watches on stonebaked earth...

"S" Words

Today I was considering writing about syndactyly in feet, something I suffer (? not really the right word, as it really isn't an issue) from but as I found out about a friend's foot fetish the other day, I am a not sure I should be encouraging his aberrant behaviour.

(Just for you O'Brien)

So I decided to do another "S" word instead, in this case is "socialisation"; as a homeschooler it's a word frequently bandied about, supposedly pointing the deficiency that home educated children will have in growing into healthy, well rounded adults.

Simba-iotic Relationships

One of my besties is due a baby in a few months and is having a rough time with it, so I thought to cheer her with Lion King, everyone loves Lion King!

(It's also in my head as I've it playing for my wee girl on dvd.)

Introvert

One thing some people (including family members) never understood when I was growing up was that I was quite content to be left alone with a book or a paper and pencils in a quiet zone and it was quite torturous for me to be sent outside or to the park to play with peers. I didn't want to be bothered or tickled (I *hate* being tickled) or told to snap out of it and thirty-seven years later, there are some days when I *still* want to be left alone even if it's just for an hour or so, I get agitated and stressed if I am forced to interact, the only difference is I'm confident enough in myself now that I can say to my husband "I need a bit of time on my own" and I will walk away.

Latte Art

I dislike coffee, I always have and I expect I always will, tea drinker all the way here. Strangely, I love coffee flavour in other things like cake or icecream, which is unusual in itself as I am not really fond of icecream either (with certain exceptions, I do not like drinks that masquerade as food eg soup, cereal or in this case icecream). My weird food fussiness has been around for as long as I remember. I once broke up with a guy who was working as a barista in a café, I came to visit him at work and he offered me a drink, I replied "Thanks, tea" and he said "No, I'll make you a mocha latte, you'll *like* that!" that set off major warning CONTROL FREAK signals in my head and I left the café single.

Jamming In My Jammies

I'm having a lazy day piano playing in my pyjamas is the height of my motivations this day.

Blue's right, that's how every Sunday should be!

(Music and food, two of my favourite things.)

Squirrel

I am just after sharing my brunch with my kids, neither of whom were hungry until I sat down to eat, I know this because I specifically asked "Do you want something to eat?".
