Sixth Sense

Today is my husband and my sixth wedding anniversary so I thought I would share some snippets of wit from the very humourous man I hitched my wagon to 11th March 2006.

(PS If you're like me and didn't know what soggy biscuits are.)

Happy Anniversary Blue, love your Weirdo!

Unschooling

I tend to have more of a structured approach to homeschooling than natural learning, it works for our family to  have that set dynamic and curricular in place. I'm not averse to child led learning, as I am aware some home educators are, just pointing out it's not for me and mine.

The subject is controversial and often trying to articulate to local school authorities what your child has learned can be problematic. Not because they aren't learning, just that what they are focusing on that month may be something completely different to what their schooled peers are.

There are many who embrace unschooling, attachment parenting, baby wearing and elimination observation, such as Blossom. For every one article in favour of natural learning or homeschooling in general there is always those who are biased against it and believe we're doing a disservice to our children.

Ugandan Pet Doors

Feline Overlords, even when benevolent they're still dictators. I am always reminded of this very funny book when talking about who rules the roost in our homes.

Obviously not in the same vein as Joseph Kony and although I like the fact that the world at large is becoming aware of atrocities in Uganda.

I would just like to add one quote as a final "Jerry Springer thought for the day":

A thought-provoking, intelligent, well explained argument, that I agree whole heartedly with.

Bouncing Babies

My beautiful (really there should be a law against looking so good in labour) cousin gave birth in the early hours of the morning. So as I am a little broody today and as my husband is trying to avoid eye contact, I thought I would write today's post about babies.

Congratulations Hayley & Ben!

Finding MMO

Lack of Blizzcon in 2012 means that for many of us we won't be able to lol, admire, deride, comment on the of WoW/Starcraft specific cosplay at one of the largest scifi/fantasy conventions in Europe and North America, a favourite occupation for the last few years.

Just for Black too:

and because I am being generous click for Lime's nelfs.
