Murder Most Horrid

I was challenged by my friend (who has the mentality of a teenage boy), to incorporate either "big tits" or "explosions" as the topic of today's post.

Let us begin with some epic boobage:

Vikings, Comics and Girl Guides, Oh My!

I messed up, and got dates wrong of an outing for my daughters girl guides group, I thought it was tonight, it was last night! To make up for this I am going to take my child to the Magnus Barelegs Viking Festival I also want to get up to 2D Comic Festival at some point this weekend, so busy days abound!

(It seems so long from she was beginning *wipes tear*.)

Nanny Beach

My kids call my mother Nanny Beach, could be worse her name could be Grandma Rock's, today is her birthday, she is now the age my grandmother got too but my Grandmother was "old" and I am having a harder time thinking of my own mother as a little, old lady, despite the fact that she has shrunk at least 3 inches over the years. My mother was always tall 5'9" (1.75m) and I was the runt of the litter at 5'6." (1.67m) but last time I saw her, just over two years ago, she was the same height as me.

Still no idea

Aye aye Captain

How do you make a blonde's eyes twinkle?
Shine a light in her ear.

Where is the eye located?

Towel Day

Today is Towel Day, the chance to be ever so slightly eccentric and walk around with a bath or hand towel wrapped about your neck. A few months back I signed an online petition to ask Google  to do one of their infamous logo makeovers with something representative of the day, instead we have the boring one as per usual.

"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

"So long, and thanks for all the fish!"

Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows

I bet you're all singing that song now thanks to todays title.

When I was in my late teens and my friends were all sunbathing, bedhopping, drinking, dancing and buying late night kebabs at The Souvalaki Bar, every single one of my girlfriends at some point lived in Northbridge, often an apartment in the Pink Palace (a local apartment complex painted flamingo pink which had low rent and a high occupancy turnover). The other home area of choice were the many apartments and house shares in Mt Lawley, around the intersections of Beaufort Street and Central Avenue and the streets adjacent. Neither of these was too far from the Swan River and I spent days jetty diving and swimming, scare storying about sharks in the river. I was also a mad keen waterskier at the Narrows, this pic reminds me of those rose-tinted, halcyon days, just getting out and cooling off in the sunshine.

Episode V

If you haven't realised already, I am a massive Star Wars fan and today celebrates the general release of The Empire Strikes Back in 1980.

(My desktop screenshot from SW:TOR)

I love the storyline to the trilogy and prequel trilogy. I love the scifi, the character development and the shwoom sound of lightsabers. I also love making stuff based on the series, I finished a knitted Boba Fett mask on a bib the other day and made SW beanies for my geeky daughters in winter.

I also like making peg dolls of popular sci-fi, fantasy characters, apart from Star Wars, I do Star Trek and Doctor Who as well.

A Month to Midsummer

Last week we had a massive hail shower here, seriously the kids thought it had snowed it laid on the ground so heavily; in March we got two weeks of tantalizing heat, the unrealised (so far) promise of an Indian Summer whereas last year at the same time we had some late snow. Twenty-twelve has been the year of crazy arse weather, at least where I am. I know Melbourne has the reputation of being the city of four seasons in one day but it's been quite mental, mental chicken oriental for months now and I am sick of it, I just want a bit of vitamin D.

(I am from WA and never saw snow until I was seventeen, then  my boyfriend drove me up to the mountains in Victoria and took me skiing.)

QQ

Last night I was told to "GROW UP FFS!!" (I'm not growing up and you can't make me!) and had to listen to the whining of some grumpy, little dps who got all sad and upset that I didn't kowtow to his entitled arse after a fight and instead healed the guy beside him, who needed it more. I sort of thought y'know you could have used a bandage or eaten to regenerate in a battleground. Still, it was amusing to watch him try and flex his epeen about much to the bemusement of myself and my two other guildies who then spent considerable amount of time taking the piss in the battleground and in guild chat.

This isn't a new occurence for me, I quite often go against teen angst in MMOs, I encourage it in a way, there is something quite malicious in me that likes to befriend a player from the opposite faction, smile, help them out on chain qs, lull them into a false sense of security then kill them when they've pulled the final boss. I play computer games to relax, if someone wants to get their panties in a bunch over an MMO who am I to stop them?

As a parent that made me sad, as a PvPer it just stroked my ego.

Diablo

Well it has happened, Blizzard have released Diablo 3, all morning I have received texts saying how wonderful it is, or seen on my newsfeed joyful, happy faces, I've not finished downloading my copy yet so I just don't know for myself.

May as well have some music to go on the journey:

Curious George

Happy birthday George Lucas, even though you're a little neurotic about stealing copywrite from artists, singers or laser makers, you retconned Greedo shooting first and let's not even get into what you did to Indiana Jones in that last film...actually, screw happy birthday:

(You make geeks cry!)

Poorly Me

After successfully tending to the illnesses needs of first Miss Five, then Miss Two and finally Mr Seventeen in the past week, I have finally succumbed to their germy infestation and I am loaded with a cold, so here is a picture of one of my cats to tide you over until tomorrow:

Runcible Spoons

If you've been on Google at all today, you would realise it's the 200th birthday of Edward Lear. British poet and artist who was seemingly as mad as a box of frogs, still I do love the poem "The Owl and The Pussycat" so let's take inspiration for today's post from it:
